People should not brag about having religion to others. They shouldn’t think they are better than anyone else because they believe in a certain religion. They shouldn’t put others down. That’s not what religion is about. Religion is about having something to believe in when nothing seems right. Religion is about having a certain standard of morals and ethics that you as a person live by. Religion is for one’s self, not for any one else. I cannot stand those who are so blinded by their “religion” that they hurt others in the process of pursuing their “beliefs”. I am a Christian. I believe in God, I believe that Jesus died for my sins, and I believe in a heaven. But I don’t think I’m any better than any one else for believing those things. Most of the time it’s almost embarrassing to tell people. I get looked down upon because of the acts of extremely radical Christians. But I do not agree with nor condone any of those acts. I’m pro-gay marriage and pro-choice. I think every person is equal no matter their sexuality, race, preferred gender, etc. etc. As long as you’re a good person, that’s all I care about. I know I’m not the best person, but I try very hard every day to be the best person I can. I try to be polite, loving, and caring as much as I can. And sometimes it gets really hard to do so, and maybe I’m weak because of this, but that’s when I turn to my religion to help me through it. For those that can be a good person and not have any need for religion to help them, I commend you. I am just not that strong I guess.
